Historical European Martial Arts (Hema) – ages: 14 years and older
Historical reenactment

HEMA – Historical European Martial Arts.
  • Fencing with the training weapons close to the historical originals.
  • We have classes in the XIX century dueling saber, XVI-XVII century solo rapier or rapier with dagger, XIII-XIV century sword and buckler.
  • The sparring rules recreate real combat with no armor or other protection.
  • The classes are planned around the real historical fencing treatises.
  • All participants wear solid protective gear such as jackets, fencing masks and plastic chest and limb protection.
Ascent – the biggest HEMA saber tournament in Russia.
Modern Sword Fighting (MSF) – ages: 8 years and older

MSF (Modern Sword Fighting)
  • A combat sports – sparring with safe imitations of medieval weapons, sports sword and sports shield.
  • Core audience – children and teenagers up to 18 years old.
  • The fencing equipment is produced from soft polymer materials ensuring the top safety of sparring.
  • A number of disciplines: from classical one-on-one sparring to three-on-three or five-on-five mass combat using not only shield and sword, but also longsword, buckler and backsword
The MSF Federation unites 55 regions of Russia and more then 10 000 athletes and holds regular competitions.

Historical reenactment
Get started
  • Researching and recreating historical everyday life and combat – for example, recreating Viking clothes or reenacting their battles.

  • Applying scientific methods – doing research and holding experiments to check historical facts.

  • Organizing historical reenactment events or participating in them, including interstate festivals with up to 20 000 participants. The festivals comprise reenactment of the major historical events of the target historical periods, lectures on history, themed entertainment, mass combat, concerts and fairs.
